Milwaukee Leather Title Contest
The LGBTQ+ leather community is closely tied to motorcycle clubs and culture. While Pride Rides Wisconsin is not specifically a leather club, nor a motorcycle club, we honor that connection by welcoming members of the leather, kink, and fetish communities to join us for our first annual title contest, MILWAUKEE LEATHER!
What is a title contest?
A leather title contest is an event where members of the leather, kink, and fetish communities compete to represent their local, regional, national, or international community as a titleholder for a year. Titleholders serve as ambassadors for the communities they represent, act as educators and activists, and travel to other events to network and represent their title.
MILWAUKEE LEATHER is a title contest designed to represent our diverse and beautiful Milwaukee leather, kink, and fetish scenes.
Who can compete?
MILWAUKEE LEATHER is an entry-level title contest open to ALL participants regardless of gender or orientation.
Applicants must be over 21 years of age and reside in Milwaukee County, or one of the surrounding 5 counties of Ozaukee, Washington, Waukesha, Racine, and Kenosha. This is a title to represent the MILWAUKEE community, after all! (Exceptions are available if you live outside these areas - contact us!)
To be eligible to run, you cannot already hold an equivalent or higher title. Remember, this is an entry-level title contest! (Pride Rides Wisconsin members are also not eligible to run.)
Are you a growing leader in the leather, bear, pet-play, bootblack, furry, or fetish community, and ready to take the next step in your journey? Fill out the Contestant Application here!
What does the contest entail?
What is expected of me if i win?
Contestants for the title are evaluated in several categories by a panel of judges. Scores from each of these categories will be totaled to determine the contestant's standing, and a contestant must earn at least 70% of the available points to be eligible for the title of Milwaukee Leather.
Categories include:
-
Public Image (how you interact with others, judged throughout the event)
-
Meet & Greet (social time with the judges and patrons prior to the contest)
-
Hot Wear (your sexy outfit)
-
Pop Questions (one silly, one serious, one standard)
-
Formal Wear (your dress-to-impress outfit and final look of the night)
-
1-minute Speech (prompt will be provided, or prepare your own)
Contestants will meet with the Contestant Wrangler at the start of the event, who will be their go-to person to help them throughout the contest. A Wrangler (also known as a "Den Parent") makes sure the contestants always know where they need to be, and what they need to do. They will be there to guide you, and answer any questions you may have!
The title of Milwaukee Leather makes you an ambassador for the Milwaukee leather, kink, and fetish communities. The winner is awarded the Milwaukee Leather legacy title stole to carry for their title year, as well as a title medallion that they can hang on to.
There are only three main requirements of the winning titleholder:
-
Be a positive role model and public figure, representing the Milwaukee leather, kink, and fetish communities to the best of your ability.
-
Organize a fundraising event for a charity with direct impact to Milwaukee. Pride Rides Wisconsin has a list of charities that fulfill this requirement.
-
Run for a state title at Wisconsin Leather Pride. The winner of Milwaukee Leather can run for any title track of their choosing at Wisconsin Leather Pride.
Beyond that, it's your title year to make what you want out of it!
